2D Drawings for Custom Furniture

The team visited the site to understand flow request for design and on the shop and identified inaccuracies in flat pattern drawings as well as AutoCAD manufacturing drawings
Team found that the shop also had its own modified versions for regular tables (sheet metal)
To standardize the documents and reduce ECOs, CAD drafters converted AutoCAD 2D drawings to SolidWorks 3D models with DFM properties
Custom tables for engineering teams with K factor were also created for flat pattern drawings
In the later stage, project engineers identified standard and regular items for the manufacturer’s portfolio and implemented DriveWorks for repetitive products to save time
Defect tracking process and quality checks were established to test the manufacturing drawings and documents
